With the end of August, comes a new season and a new series: The Monthly Edit. At the end of each month, I’ll be sharing a short post of things I’m loving in my day to day.

The categories for each edit will remain the same, and it was surprisingly difficult to pick the categories. I should’ve expected that, given that I have so many different interests, and I’m the worst at narrowing down a niche. After much work and planning, check out the categories and this month’s picks below!

August is over and September is beginning! That means summer is coming to an end (boo), Benny season is coming to an end (whoo!), and school is starting up again (ehh). I’m really just looking forward to surviving the Fall Semester! It is going to be rough, but just as always, I will get through it!

Now, onto the categories!

Do // Kayla Itsines BBG  I’ve been working out a lot more this year, and loving it! After a lot of recommendations and seeing Carly Heitlinger using it, I decided to try out Kayla Itsines Bikini Body Guide. I’ve only just started, but being on Week 2 of the PreTraining, I am already feeling so much stronger! Look out for a post when I finish pre-training, as well as after the 12-week plan!

Read // Crazy Rich Asians   Jumping on this bandwagon pretty late, I’ve been reading Kevin Kwan’s Crazy Rich Asians. I wanted to read the book before I saw the movie, and it’s been super good so far! It was my August beach read, that I never actually got to finish in August. I’m about a quarter of the way through, and totally loving it. Keep up with what I’m reading on my Goodreads, I always update my progress & new starts!

Watch // Elder Millennial  I just discovered Iliza Shlesinger’s Netflix Special and oh my god this girl is like, a hero. I can’t put my love for her comedy into words, but if you are a woman, you need to watch this. Just not at work. While drinking water. In front of a large, expensive computer. Not that I did that.

Listening // Power Playlist   Some people go with a peppy motivational playlist for the start of the school year. Personally I much prefer what I like to call a power playlist. A bunch of songs that just hype you up whenever you need it! Check out my most recent power playlist on Spotify!

Learning // Slowing Down  The fabulous girl behind @DoofandBean on Instagram reached out recently with her new project: #SlowDownSeptember. It’s all about setting weekly self care goals to introduce these good habits into your regular life. Judging by my grey-ing hair, I could definitely use some better self care habits. Keep an eye out this month both here on the blog and on my Instagram for updates on my Slow Down September journey!

Eat // Twining’s Oolong Tea  So it’s not technically food, but rather drinking. Close enough. This month I tried a new tea. I’m usually a hardcore Lady Grey kind of girl, but this one? Solid 9 out of 10 tea.

Wear // Linen Wide Leg Pants   It’s been Hot & Humid, with capital H’s this summer, and I am not a fan. I usually wear dresses at work to combat the heat, but some days, it’s nice to swap out for pants. For the first time I found linen pants, and I have been missing out! My pair are Tahari brand, navy blue pants, found at TJ Maxx, and I’m definitely going to keep an eye out for another pair to add to the collection!

Work // CF Community Member  That is right, I am officially a College Fashionista Community Member! I’m really looking forward to the opportunities and connections I’m going to earn through CF. I’ve got some reading to do to get fully ready and into the community, but I absolutely can’t wait! More on this soon here and on Instagram!

Want // Hutch Conversion   A surprisingly hard pick for this month. There isn’t much I’ve been wanting for me, I’ve been just too busy to think about it really. What I have really had my eye on is a new hutch conversion for Gus! He really likes his current set up, but I’m hoping to convert a entertainment center piece into a new cage for him. Good function, and good design!

That’s a wrap for August, here’s to a good September! Come back to the blog soon for a self care challenge, college tips, and more!
